In these days of increasing instability and uncertainty, many of us are hearing exciting accounts of the stirring of God’s Spirit – especially among the younger generation – from diverse locations all over the country. This has led to a heightened longing and expectation among many believers that God may be about to pour out His Spirit upon our nation and saturate communities with floods of living water.
This collection of short daily readings, along with various significant visions of revival, helpfully serves to reawaken the memory of the Rev Hugh Black – a truly unique spiritual teacher from a previous generation with whom most younger believers today may well be unfamiliar.
More importantly, it serves to challenge the reader in his or her commitment to Christ, encourages him in his walk of faith, and wonderfully serves to stir the heart and instil a fresh sense of spiritual passion. All this can only lead us to bow the knee and cry out to the living God to send refreshing rains upon our dry and needy land once again – and in the process, turn many a lost soul towards Him who alone can save.
